FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You bet! We want to be your dog's new besties.

Let's talk about pups, ba-by. Let's talk about you and me. Let's talk about all the good things and the bad things that may be...

  1. Your doggo needs to have had at least the first 2 rounds of puppy shots, and if they're over 3 months old, they must be up to date on their rabies vaccine.
  2. Your dog will have to audition. They don't have to prepare a piece of music or dance number. Instead, you will need to schedule a 10-minute meet-and-greet with our staff to make sure they (and we) are a good fit. We will probably tell you to run and grab a latte and give your pup a few minutes to show us what they've got in the mosh pit. If they show any aggression or too much fear or stress, we are happy to recommend another salon for you.
  3. If your dog isn't fixed yet, please let us know. We will stick a diaper on your unneutered male, and you will need to reschedule your dog if she is in heat or pregnant.
  4. Most of our clients are on a recurring 4-6 week schedule, so be prepared to do the same. Your first appointment will most likely need to be made a months ahead of time, and assuming you like us and we vibe with your dog, we would recommend booking in advance as much as possible.
  5. See that little black bar at the top of this page to fill out our new client form? (I'll wait while you look.) Find it? Click it. Fill out and sign all of the things before you even call us. If not, we will bug the crap out of you until you do.

Short answer: YES. At Ruff-N-Roll Fur Studio, we groom all the dogs. Every purebred or mixed up pup imaginable is welcome. We know what we are doing, but sometimes we need your help to see your vision for your dog's new style. We love creative freedom, but we also love to make you a proud parent.  Bring in pictures of haircuts you like (but be realistic). It would be challenging to make your Yorkie look like an 80 pound curly haired Goldendoodle. And if we didn't get it exactly right the first time, please tell us before you leave the studio! We are happy to fix it for you if possible. Or, if you notice it later on, cool. Just let us know next time you come in, so we can try a different technique.

We wish.

Ask us! We are happy to answer any and all of your puppy questions or send you to someone who knows more than we do. As far as grooming goes, the sooner the better! After your dog's first 2 rounds of puppy shots, please get them into our studio. We offer a puppy package for little ones 4 months and under for $50 that will include all the good stuff (minus an all over haircut). We will give you tips and tricks to get your baby used to being handled, so grooming becomes a part of their life that they enjoy.

Absolutely. We love our old timers, and we can make recommendations for how to best schedule and care for your beloved friend. Ruff-N-Roll is the perfect environment for senior dogs who get stressed out when they're away from their humans. It is typically a more quiet, less crowded, and lower-stress environment. Honestly, we are obsessed with old dogs and give them extra blankies and cuddles whenever we can.

Would Billy Corgan and Slash be charged the same price for their haircuts? Doubtful. Each dog is unique. Even if you tell us the breed, weight, and tell us that you brush your dog 25 times a day, we still don't know how much work your dog will be for us until we get our hands on it. We are happy to give you our best estimate, because we have all spent most of our adult lives grooming dogs. However, until we are finished with your dog's groom, there is no way to know what obstacles we may run into during the process. Snuggles, hugs, and kisses for your dog (sorry - not you) are always included in the price.

No. Too many cars and too much risk. Honestly, our location is not ideal for dog walking. We have built a fortress for your dogs to stay safe and cozy in our care. For this reason, we ask that you take your dog potty before driving to us for their appointment. We know accidents may happen while they're with us, but please empty their tank to decrease that possibility.

Not those kinds of shots, but it sounds like a good time. We require that all dogs have their first 2 rounds of puppy shots, and dogs over 3 months old must be current on their rabies vaccine. We STRONGLY recommend that all dogs are current on all vaccines, especially Bordatella. It is the OWNER'S responsibility to provide us with a rabies certificate or shot record from the vet at or prior to check-in. You may also email your shot records to furstudio@ruffnroll.net or text them to (463) 867-7070.

We do NOT treat for fleas, and since we are cage-free, those little devils could quickly take over our studio if your dog brings them into our space. If you notice your dog has fleas, your vet is your new best friend. They can prescribe the proper treatment to get rid of those pests for you, and then we are happy to use a soothing shampoo and conditioner to help your pooch with their itchy (but flea-free) skin. If we discover fleas while your dog is getting their groom on, we will stop and ask that you immediately come pick up your friend! (Maybe some good Red Hot Chili Peppers tunes will make them feel better).

Most salons charge extra for what they call "express" grooms. This means your dog is done straight through, limiting the amount of time your dog stays in the salon. That's all we do, so it is included in your price. Also, most salons charge you extra for things like nail filing, breath spray, conditioner, specialty shampoos, de-shedding treatments, etc. We include all of it. We think every single dog in our care is automatically a VIP and deserves the best treatment. If you disagree, we will let you tell your own dog they have to settle for lawn seats at a different venue. Let me break it down for you. Most salons charge extra for all of these things:

  1. Express groom (in and out service): $20+
  2. Nails filed: $10+
  3. High quality customized shampoo and conditioner: $10+
  4. De-shedding process: $30+
  5. Our sense of of humor and impeccable style: priceless
